James B. Benigno, Jr. O.D.

Dr. Benigno is a native of Pass Christian and has practiced family eye care in Pass Christian since 1997. As a child, he attended St. Paul Elementary School and graduated Salutatorian of St. Stanislaus College in 1989. He completed a pre-Optometry track at the University of Southern Mississippi allowing him early entrance to optometry school, then received his Bachelor of Science in Optometry at the University of Houston before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree. He is a 1996 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University Of Houston College Of Optometry. He was awarded the Excellence in Optics Award for the Class of 1996. He is a member of the Mississippi Optometric Association (MOA) and the American Optometric Association (AOA) and has been a member of the AOA since his first year of optometry school.

Dr. Benigno is a member of the Coast Chamber. He has served as President of the St. Paul School Advisory Council, Chairman of the St. Paul Seafood Festival, Co-chair of the Holy Family Seafood Festival, volunteer for the St. Paul Carnival Association and volunteer for the Wings Performing Arts program at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center. Dr. Benigno is an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and resides in Pass Christian with his wife and son.

Dr. Benigno has and continues to provide annual vision screenings for three local elementary schools since the early years of his practice.
